Pizza, love it, sandwiches, love ’em. So it makes sense these Pizza Sandwiches would be right up my alley right? Well, yum! Just look at the ooey gooey cheesy goodness mixed with pepperoni in the middle of that delicious bread. Get in my belly! I Love the girls over at Our Best Bites where this recipe originated from. They are seriously food geniuses!
Here is the cast of characters needed.
Loaf of bread with crusty outside (your deli section in the grocery store should have lots of options, I chose a sourdough)
Garlic Bread Seasoning
Slice your bread as thin or thick as you want, then smother with butter and sprinkle the garlic bread seasoning over each piece.
Place the bread butter side down on tin foil in on a baking sheet and spread generously with pizza sauce. I like a lot of sauce, you could say that I am a “saucy” type of girl if you catch my drift! Hee hee!
Sprinkle with a good amount of shredded mozzarella and pepperoni. I myself like sandwich pepperoni as the pieces are much bigger than regular pizza pepperoni.
Sprinkle more cheese atop the pepperoni and place another piece of bread, butter side up on top. Then place in the oven to broil. I broiled mine on low because I wanted the inside of the sandwich to be nice and melty and the outside to be toasted, but not burnt and crispy. It did take a little while to broil, I turned the sandwiches several times just to get an even and lovely crisp.
Just look at that, can’t wait to sink my teeth into it!
