Happy Belated Halloween

Halloween-32turns-2.jpg-8

Happy belated Halloween! Ok, let’s face it, Halloween is NOT my favorite holiday. I am not saying that I am a Halloween grinch….just that it isn’t my favorite. I don’t like to carve pumpkins, WHAT you say?? Yes, it is not my thing. I don’t like the mess, I don’t like that they rot in a few days. My kids will probably be scarred for life since I deprive them of this experience year after year. I avoid pumpkin carving like the plague. This year I dodged the bullet by handing my girls colored sharpies and letting them draw faces on their pumpkins…..mom of the year right?!? This is a serious confession Continue reading

Sunday Feel Good Moment

Today I was cruising around some other bloggers sites as I like to do. I love to read and look at what other great bloggers are doing. It gives me motivations, ideas, and reminds me why I started my own blog. This afternoon I stumbled upon a blog I haven’t read before The Mom Creative. I got sucked in….have you ever had that happen to you? I started looking at this cute blog layout and design and analyzing the things I liked about it, then I started to read the content and 30 minutes later I found myself still there clicking around. Jessica of the Mom Creative, in my opinion, has hit blogging on the head and I love it!

I want to share a video that I watched on her blog. It uplifted me today. It made me teary eyed. It made me believe in humanity. It made me want to be a better person and help others to be better. This video is all about a fantastic program, I hope you take the time to watch it, and that it gives you a Sunday feel good moment. It sure did for me. Thanks for sharing Jessica. If you have time you should definitely check out her site, but make sure you have some time because you might get stuck there for awhile! LOL!

I'm going to Blended Conference in Tempe, Arizona in September 2013

I attended my first ever blogging conference last Saturday here in Arizona. I think that officially qualifies me as a real blogger now…..maybe?!?! 🙂 Blended Conference 2013 was great. I went with TJ from Sweet Sugar Blossoms who is incredible and my dearest friend on and off the blogging scene. She’s “got my back” all the time, you know ?!?!? Everyone needs a friend like that! Who better Continue reading

We Go Together Like Peanut Butter & Jelly – Day 8

Tana1

We have really been struggling lately with our oldest Tana. She is having a hard time with her behavior at school and at home. I love her to bits (she is an amazing girl), but she seems to be in trouble more often than not lately. It is hard, as her parents, to feel like we are constantly coming down on her with a punishment or a correction or a re-direction. It is difficult as a parent to make sure there are enough positive moments in the day with your kids. I forget how many positive memories it takes to make up for a negative one, but it is definitely not 1 for 1. I am working hard lately to create positive moments with Tana and to remind her that as her Mom I love her and I think she is wonderful

DownEast Blog Mixer

download

I have been shopping at DownEast Basics for a very long time. I remember shopping with my sister on vacation in Provo, Utah 8 years ago and picking up a long tank top at a kiosk in the Provo mall. A long tank top! They are easier to find now, but 8 years ago finding a modest long tank top was a lot more difficult! I was super excited to find one and was instantly a fan. When they started opening up stores I was super stoked! For years, whenever I would go to Utah and visit my sister we would always have an afternoon set aside for a trip to DownEast. I could always find modest skirts, shirts and super cute accessories. It is sometimes very hard to find knee length skirts that are cute. But DownEast has always delivered for me.
